View Full Version : FadeSlideShow problem - just getting a blank page - why?

1) Script Title: FadeSlideShow

2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex14/fadeinslideshow.htm

3) Describe problem: I've tried using this slideshow on my site a couple times now and I never get anything to work. Just a blank page appears. I've tried using it on Drupal first and had issues. So, then I went into my Adobe GoLive to try it on another site and still got a blank page. And I can't figure out why!

I copy and paste the entire code into the HTML and only two little arrows show up. If I try to just upload the page to the server, and then open it, just two little arrows show up. No pictures, nothing.

So I tried customizing it, adding the URL for my site, adding the URLs for the pictures that I want in it, taking out the second slideshow, etc and all I get is a blank page with NOTHING on it.

Please help - any tips/advice? I've used js slideshows before and never had problems, so I can't figure out why in the world I'm getting nothing.

Is there anything I need to take out/add to the code that's not said on the page?

Yes, I have the fadeslideshow.js file uploaded to my server, so that is not the problem.

Thanks!

This is what I've done with the code so far and it's still not working. What's the problem(s)? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Add the highlighted, get rid of the red:

Make sure you've uploaded the fadeslideshow.js file to the same folder as the above page and that the images are where your code points to. Upper and lower case matter in their paths and filenames, these must match exactly their locations on the server.

If you want more help:

Please post a link to a page on your site that contains the problematic code so we can check it out.

Thanks! I did that and the page is still blank.

Here's a link to the actual page, so you can view the source - click here. (http://www.barrettspinalcare.com/slideshowtest.html)

Thanks!

Try to add a comma ( see the red comma)
["http://www...................com/Pictures/slideshow3.png", "Picture 3"],

You will probably have to change the image arrays a bit anyway maybe to something like this:
["http://www...................com/Pictures/slideshow3.png", "", "", "Picture 3"],

Awesome, that worked! Thanks :). Now, hopefully it'll work on Drupal ;) . . .
