maybe you want to change the fade duration ? if so find this

fadeduration: 500, //transition duration (milliseconds)

and change 500 to 1000 or what is appropriate. It is the fade duration in milliseconds.

Thanks for you reply. :)

I tried this and it doesn't
give the "fade" effect.

do you have a link to you site ? And maybe also a link to a site that has the "fade" effect you want.

I showed it to my client, and they were satified with the slower
fade. Thanks again!:D

Another question:
I want to use Have the description below the image, which I have working using the "#info2" div.
The problem is that it still shows up on the image also. Am I missing something? Here is what I have-

displaymode: {type:'auto', pause:3500, cycles:5, wraparound:true, randomize:false},
persist: false, //remember last viewed slide and recall within same session?
fadeduration: 1500, //transition duration (milliseconds)
descreveal:"none",
togglerid: "",
onslide:function(curimage, index){
var imagearray=this.setting.imagearray
jQuery('#info2').html(imagearray[index][3])
}

Also I want to have a poem for one image. Is there a way to format it
to look like a poem without using <br /> or <br>. It wont validate with either.

I can't see anything wrong with the part of the script you have posted so I guess the problem lies elsewhere. I'm not sure what you mean with the 'validate' part. I think we need a link to the site with the problem to get further with it.

This is the web url:

http://www.dianesepanski.com/awards.html

The validator - w3c validator
It comes up with page errors - <br /> tags I put in the image array for the description in the head section are the problem.
I am not sure how to change this and have the text display the way I
want it to. Any suggestions?

The first thing I would suggest is that you try the newer version of the fadeslideshow.js

version 2.4

http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex14/fadeslideshow.js

it might just help with your first problem.
When using xhtml doctype you need selfclosing tags, right now the br tags are not closed on your page, but I'm not certain if that's the only problem. I will experiment a bit with it and report back if I find out something

Okay I found that using selfclosing tags was not enough to make it validate. But when using xhtml doctype you can use the cdata stuff for example like this

<script type="text/javascript">
/* <![CDATA[ */

var mygallery=new fadeSlideShow({
wrapperid: "fadeshow1", //ID of blank DIV on page to house Slideshow
dimensions: [250, 180], //width/height of gallery in pixels. Should reflect dimensions of largest image
imagearray: [
["http://i26.tinypic.com/11l7ls0.jpg", "", "", "Nothing beats<br />relaxing next<br /> to the pool when the weather is hot."],
["http://i29.tinypic.com/xp3hns.jpg", "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cave", "_new", "Some day I'd like to explore these caves!"],
["http://i30.tinypic.com/531q3n.jpg"],
["http://i31.tinypic.com/119w28m.jpg", "", "", "What a beautiful scene with everything changing colors."] //<--no trailing comma after very last image element!
],
displaymode: {type:'auto', pause:2500, cycles:0, wraparound:false},
persist: false, //remember last viewed slide and recall within same session?
fadeduration: 500, //transition duration (milliseconds)
descreveal: "ondemand",
togglerid: ""
})

/* ]]> */
</script>
and that will actually make it validate even with the <br /> tags

Thank you for you help.
The updated script works great!
The CDATA also works.
I really appreciate the help and information!:)
