2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex2/crawler/index.htm

Hello

I am breaking my nugget over what must be a simple to resolve problem.

As you can see in the screengrab, the text is aligned at the top of the images.
I would like the text to be aligned at the bottem of the image. How can this be resolved.

Thank you

John

It would depend upon your markup and styles. The demo page has no text mixed with images. However, the script does give all images a style of vertical-align: top; unless you override it somehow. That might be a factor.

From your image it looks like you have two crawlers and that it is the second one that has this issue. It's class designation is marquee1 (the first one would be marquee0).

So, you could put this in your stylesheet:

.marquee1 img {
vertical-align: bottom!important;
}

If you want more help:

Please post a link to a page on your site that contains the problematic code so we can check it out.

Thanks for that.

I have put the style in the head of the html and it works.
My head looks like below.

<head>
<script type="text/javascript" src=<?php echo $thecrawler ?> >
/*
Text and/or Image Crawler Script 2009 John Davenport Scheuer
as first seen in http://www.dynamicdrive.com/forums/ username: jscheuer1

*/
</script>
<style type="text/css">
img {vertical-align: bottom!important;}
</style>
</head

As you see in the attached img, there is an horz. and a vert. scroller. That they are both vissable is temporary.
I am developing a module for joomla. Site-admins set the direction of travel in the back-end, I don't have a published site myself.
(pictures and texts are obvuscated)

Thanks again John.

One more question

First page load is fast.
Page reload takes a lot of time, sometimes timing-out on max server execution time (30secs)
This is sinds I added this java-script. Is there any solution to this?

I published my site temporary at http://82.95.194.116/index.php
username : guest
pasword : guest

Could someone please take a look?

Greatings John

Your page has at least two opening html tags, at least two heads and at least two bodies. When using includes or importing content in any way, it is best to avoid that sort of thing whenever possible.

And at the moment, the external script tag for crawler.js points to what I assume is your local PHP server:

<script type="text/javascript" src=http://localhost/modules/mod_amber_alert/crawler.js >
/*
Text and/or Image Crawler Script 2009 John Davenport Scheuer
as first seen in http://www.dynamicdrive.com/forums/ username: jscheuer1
This Notice Must Remain for Legal Use
*/

</script>

So there's not much I can tell.

Oops

path corrected.

removed 1 scroller. Seems to be the problem.

Now reloads fast.

And one more question John

The altered crawler by morgan (http://www.davisonwebdesign.com/tools/crawler_vertical.zip) has a very small area that reverses the direction. Do you know how to make that area at the top a few pixels bigger? I have been looking at this script but I can not find it.

Thanks in advance

John
