Hello all ~ It's been a long time since I've been on here, but I am trying to insert a header into my pages at http://www.dreamsonthefly.com the header being "Guided Fly Fishing on the Owyhee & Grande Ronde Rivers". I am not finding any .css on the page so I am hoping I can place in where it sits now but using the JS below and getting more space so the drop down menus don't interfere with the h1. I use Homestead and found when I was working with the JS Homestead put's their own code in as needed for their site. I am not well versed in all of this but I do understand what I need just not certain how to do it.

I sure hope this all makes sense and appreciate the help.

Wow! Remind me to NEVER use Homestead to build a site. 99% of that crap (and I use that term loosely) you don't even need.

Anyway, do you own the server the site is on? Can you upload files and edit files on your own?

If so, just make your own CSS file. It can be a small one. Set a div with a background image. Make the image the text you want and how you want it to look. Then in the HTML file set the div in place.

Something like this:

CSS code -

.header {
background: ulr(/path/to/image.jpg) no repeat center center;
width: 100%;
height: 5em;
margin: 0 auto;
}

and the HTML:

blah blah stuff up top...

</head>
<body>
<div class="header">&nbsp;</div>
blah blha rest of crap on page to the end....

Hope that helps.

Just from a visual perspective, how about tidying up your layout some more? Here's a start:
http://i40.tinypic.com/2uj441k.jpg

Basically, make all your text sit centrally on the page instead of randomly jumping around.
Also, if you made the image thumbnails all the same size it would look a lot neater (with vertical position matched on each side), and possibly add a border so they look more finished.
A caption under each would be useful and also for the ones that link elsewhere, put "view larger picture" too because at the minute, visitors dont know which are links and which arn't unless they hover.

There's also rather a large gap between your banner and main title so maybe reduce that too.

Hope that helps
