1) Script Title:
Ultimate Fade-in slideshow (v2.1)
2) Script URL (on DD):
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex14/fadeinslideshow.htm
3) Describe problem:
Hi, I used this script and my only question is: how to change this black background? I mean I had searched all "black" in .js file and I changed them into "white" but it's still black.. Please help :)

You may have missed one, or been viewing a cached copy. Other things could cause that.

You don't need to edit the script for that anyway. You can use style. Say your wrapperid is fadeshow1. If so, you may add to your stylesheet:

#fadeshow1, #fadeshow1 .gallerylayer {
background-color: white!important;
}

I used this code:

</script>

<style type="text/css">
<!--
#fadeshow1 {
position:absolute;
width:400px;
height:300px;
z-index:1;
left: 359px;
top: 267px;
background-color: white;
}
-->
</style>
</head>

The positioning worked, but the background was still black. And if I AM able to get it white, how can I change the text inserts to be black instead of white?

Due to modern browsers sometimes ignoring anything between:

<!--

and:

-->

It's now better to skip that kind of thing. Browsers that need that are overwhelming not used any longer.

But, that's not the real problem. The script sets the background. The only way to override that with style is to use the !important keyword:

#fadeshow1 {
position:absolute;
width:400px;
height:300px;
z-index:1;
left: 359px;
top: 267px;
background-color: white!important;
}
