Hi, i just trying Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. I didn't knew that all email in my mail server will transfer to outlook without backup. So now all of my mail are in my office computer.

My Question:

How to get back all of my email to my mail server?

Note:
I use yahoo as my mail server.

Thx a lot for your attention

Unfortunately, everything I know about both yahoo mail and outlook doesn't sound good for your problem.

Yahoo has rumored to start utilizing IMAP servers (which will allow "making copies" of messages to be checked in other clients - like outlook). As of yet, nothing concrete has been established as stable and working.

On the other side, Outlook DOES have an option of only downloading the headers, meaning the messages stay on the host server and you basically get the subject line of the emails sent.

This too is problematic (read: MicroSoft) and doesn't always work as expected.

As for getting your messages back, about all you can do is disable the incoming set up for yahoo in your outlook client, then resend all of them to your yahoo email address. Tedious, I know.

For the future, You can have the yahoo emails auto forward to a host that does provide IMAP support (such as gmail, or a website you own that has IMAP enabled) and then use Outlook to check that address.

It would go like this:

email sent from me to your yahoo box, gets forwarded by yahoo to gmail. Outlook checks the gmail account using IMAP settings and downloads a copy of the mail for you to read. The mail SHOULD still be in yahoo, but will be in gmail as well.

Hi Dave,

Wish I was technical enough to give you the right answer, but you might want to check out the Business Resources Center at http://www.microsoft.com/business/mycenter/default.aspx?CR_CC= to see if you can get the answer to your Outlook question as well as other Microsoft questions.

Best,
