modification of Flex Level Drop Down Menu

1) Flex Level Drop Down Menu (v1.1)

3) This menu is very good. I am wondering if anyone has attempted to make this a drop up menu instead only using it as a drop down menu. I am not saying pop up because that is another menu system. I would like to attach this to a hyper link in the footer and have it pop/drop up vertically.

Is this possible?

The menu should already drop up if there isn't enough room below it as far as viewable space. This means by default a footer link when moused over would have its menu drop up.
