1) Script Title: PHP Photo Album script v2.11

2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex4/php-photoalbum.htm

3) Describe problem:

Hi i have this script working fine (thanks by the way its great), i have tweaked it slightly so that it now displays the file name minus the extension as the photo name (again i found how to do this on here).

However i would really like to be able to set it up so that it displays the file name in the footer of full size image when the lightbox is triggered.

I dont really know where to start, any ideas anyone, i'm still a little new to all this. :)

How to do this really depends on how you've modified the script to display the file names under each thumbnail. Also, are you using the default lightbox script that comes with the script? There is quite a lot of documentation (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex4/php-photoalbum_suppliment.htm) on customizing the relationship between each thumbnail and the lightbox. Regardless, a link to the problem page may help.

i used the following code to display the filename minus the extension, i found it on a thread in here but cant for the life find it anymore. the code is placed in the <head> of the page displaying the gallery. the other files with the original script are unchanged.

<script type="text/javascript">

for(var i = 0; i < id.images.length; ++i){
id.desc[i] = id.images[i][1].replace(/\.[^\.]+$/, '');

however, ive just realised this works perfectly in IE8 and firefox, but not on safari. On safari i just get a blank page with no gallery images.

If anyone has any ideas why on this i'd appreciate it!

you can see an example of the gallery at

I have the thumbnail size set to 140px by 140px.
if anyone has also has any ideas on how to make sure the text does not run past the set width of the pics that would also be a big help. at the moment if the font size for the page is above 8 then the titles are too long and mess up the display of the thumbnails. Ideally id like to keep the longish titles and increase the font size slightly, so maybe putting the title on 2 lines.

i know i can define the titles in the actual page code to do this, but i'm trying to set this up of a friend who isn't very computer literate so that they can just update the image folders and not have to worry about any coding at all.
