View Full Version : Falling Animated Footer

New to the forum and to web design so bear with me please: this is going to be painful.
I wish I had an example to point to. I came across ne weeks ago and of course cannot find the bookmark. I am designing a simple graphical site using Xara Web Designer. I want to include a sticky graphical footer, which basically always displays at the bottom of the screen regardless of where you are (scrolling) on the page.
A while back, I came across a web page which, on enter, has such a sticky footer fall from the top of the page, boucing off the bottom a couple of times before coming to rest in place. I have no idea whether the animation was in Flash (i suppose the sticky footer itself could be flash rather than a simple graphic controlled by CSS/HTML) but I don't know.
Have you come across something similar or would you have pointers for me? I had a look at some scripts on DD but I cannot see anything similar.
I realise this is probably quite a complex assembly of techniques but would value your thoughts. I have a very limited budget but I would be happy to pay for the right assistance.
Thanks a lot. C

Vic, I am not able to try this right now but all I can say is thank you so much! I was expecting maybe a few high-level suggestions: this is incredible. Thank you also for putting those comments in, as I will have a job following the code as it is.
I really, really appreciate this. I will try tonight when I get home.
