How can i stop this poping up every time for the same visitor?

i run a free hosting company http://www.gear-host.com and members who request free hosting places a line of code in there pages to show the ads i only want it to show once fpr each person could this be done using cookies? if so how?

This script is very similar and already has the option of 'once per session'.
