View Full Version : inconsistent top margin positioning of tables

I've been fiddling around trying to set a consistent top margin for the pages listed below. I ordinarily wouldn't care that the tables don't appear in the identical position, but these pages appear within a frame and these shifts are annoying and very noticeable when moving between the pages.

At this point, the margins are set only within the frameset and not on any of the individual pages:

<frameset cols="400,400" frameborder="0" border="0" framespacing="0">
<frame src="navigation.htm" name="navFrame" frameborder="0" marginheight="20" marginwidth="1" scrolling="auto" noresize id="navFrame" >
<frame src="content.htm" name="contentFrame" frameborder="0" marginheight="24" marginwidth="1" scrolling="auto" noresize id="contentFrame">

I'm beginning to think the culprit is what is in the tables themselves. In Explorer, every page displays correctly except for the pages called content, and (suspiciously) every content page makes use of the very cool Cool DHTML tip. (see below)

Inconsistency in Explorer:
content (http://www.pret-a-lingo.com/email/cartoons/space/content.htm) (dhtml tooltip)
form1 (http://www.pret-a-lingo.com/email/cartoons/space/ex1.htm) (first form code)

But in Firefox, everything lines up well except for specific pages that make use of a particular form code. (see below)

Inconsistency in Firefox:
content (http://www.pret-a-lingo.com/email/cartoons/space/content.htm) (dhtml tooltip)
form2 (http://www.pret-a-lingo.com/email/cartoons/space/ex3.htm) (second form code)

If anyone has any suggestions, I would be immensely grateful! :confused:
