help with Ajax Pagination script v1.2.2

i have managed to get the script going but im having 1 problem
instead of showing ">>" for next/prev pages it shows question marks

I'm not certain, but this could very well be an encoding issue. If so, there are two basic approaches (possibly more):


Make sure the encoding for how the page is served (often by the meta tag content http-equiv="Content-Type" method, but also often overridden by server Content-Type directive) is correct to display >> as >>.

OR


Use the HTML entity for the character in place of the literal > character. You may replace '>' with '&gt;' and it may resolve the problem. For '<' use '&lt;'.
