Onclick event - to load different categories

hello all,
I am trying to implement the following...


i have lot of images as menu, which related to different categories..


In display page ( submenus in the left) and main content in the right is appearing now.


As the submenus are more, i would like to split that into two.

for example:

Homepage - Image1-click - submenu1 - content page

i would like to do:

Homepage - Image2 - Click - Submwnu 2 - Content page ( same content page)



So in Onclick event on the image, it has to load different submenus in the left.

any idea,`?
