In this thread http://www.dynamicdrive.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27630&highlight=virtual+pagination there is an update with hiding the next and previous buttons but that was for an older version as the one which can be downloaded right now

Is it possible that you can adapt that modification with the latest script ?
