hey, im new to html, and i was just fooling around in notepad, and i was wondering how to play a video on my own page on my c drive. Using windows media player, and able to pause, adjust volume, and all that stuff.

if you want to be able to play it online, then you gotta either set up a server on your comp or upload it to the internet.

there is a way to do that, if i understand you correctly. Do you mean embed a video player on your web page? Because doing that is pretty simple...
