Slideshow or image effect?

Here is an image of the slideshow or image effect I'm going for. Once an image is clicked successive images will pop up. I would like to know if anyone knows of a simple script I can use to achieve this look.

Hi Vic,

Thanks so much for sharing your script. I apologize in advance but I have very little knowledge of scripting or web design for that matter. I'm pretty much learning as I go. I am using Adobe GoLive if that means anything. I took the code for the javascript and added it to the head section of my page. I then imported the css and pasted the html. I switched the images to my own. Everything showed up fine I just needed to make some adjustments to get it to be where I wanted it, towards the bottom of the page. I went to test it out in the internet browser and it doesn't work. Please forgive me for my ignorance but is there something else I should do. I can be more detailed if you need me to. Also, I want to be able to click on an image and in another window a slideshow for just that picture comes up. Am I able to add a feature to this script like lightbox?
