I thought popped in my head, actually a memory, from a movie where the "ghost" caused a printer to print pages of binary code. the "guy" laid them on the floor and when looked at from above, it made a face, and resembled the "girl" in the movie.

so, my question is there any actual program, scan tool, etc that can do this? I can imagine the detail if the font size was very small.

This is actually pretty common. It's called ASCII Art. Here's a link:

http://www.degraeve.com/img2txt.php

Also try this search:

http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=IMG2TXT&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

or related search terms like:

image to ascii

or:

gif to ascii

etc.

Purists however prefer to use a text editor.
