So I've been trying to create my favicon for a few days now with no luck. I've tried increasing the saturation, sharpness, vibrance, etc. When I go to decrease the image size to 16x16, the original image becomes unrecognizable. The original image is at size 11729x11729. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me out. Thanks!

Maybe try a simpler version of the image? Or, scale it down 300 pixels at a time, and fix anything wrong along the way, though that may be a bit tedious...

Thanks for the suggestions. I really want this image though.

I just ran that image through the favicon generator on this site and I can still tell what the image is. Here is the ico file produced from the generator.

Hope this helps.

Just to make sure, you are using an icon file (.ico) called favicon.ico, right? And your using a code like this in the HEAD of your html page:

<link REL="SHORTCUT ICON" HREF="http://www.yourdoman.com/images/favicon.ico">

The one thetestingsite put up is about the best you're going to get. It's tough to get a pretty favicon.
