I started using IIS7 and it works fine with .asp and php but it gives me security issues when I try to work with a project that handles video and pulls a playlist from youtube

see this link:
http://www.evanloiterman.com/playlist/rpm2.html

In order to learn how to get this to work I wasted SO MUCH TIME trying to find out what I might have done wrong -then I tried to load it onto my site on an actual server and it works.

The trouble is my testing environment.

I dissable IIS7 and decided to instal WAMP -checked to make sure port 80 is not in use, disabled IIS7 in the settings and made sure WAMP is enabled.

All sign show it should be working.

I am trying to develop a plugin for a flash player so I'll need to keep testing as I work. I am not familiar with servers -I'm just a hack flash coder.

Any advice would be great.

Use a Linux server instead, I set it up with a couple clicks and it worked perfectly. I would not recommend ever using Windows for server environments (especially Vista :p).

I downloaded wamp and disabled my IIS7 -it works partly to running .asp and php scripts and but it will not allow flash player to youtube access. either I need to change a setting somewhere or perhaps I can have my opperating system changed over.

I have vista on this laptop, would someone be able to change me over to xp or NT -though I don't know how well my cs3 suite would run on NT.

If I could downgrade to XP could I keep all my data without having to back it up ie would it wipe out everything?

180MB is quite a bit, but Ill have a look at the lite version.
Maybe Ill try and deal with doing it by hand so I can just put in what I want.
just server php for the moment

thanks,
John
