Back button skips a page

I have this strange problem where after filling a form if i press the back button
(or use a javascript for that) it doesnt go back to the previous page but to the page before that, it happens in IE, in firefox it also happens but on a different page.
Any ideas how to fix that?or why it happens?

Are you using window.location.replace() to redirect the user?

Nope,
the user submit a form, but when using the back button (of explorer) using history.go(-1) it doesnt go back to the form but to a page previous to the form
