FTP help?

it says 331 Password required.
But I'm putting in the pass word & user name 1&1 gave me, and im using ftp.serenadelyts.com as the address/url/whatever. I really dont know what to do, this is my first domain, I've had a subdomain & used ftp before though.

have you tried just typing in your url without any ftp. and www. at the beginning.

have you contacted 1&1 about your problem?

other things to check (I know it sounds obvious, but they're simple mistakes that everyone makes at some point):
misspellings / transposed characters
is you CAPS LOCK key on?

Also what are you using for ftp? I have 1&1 also, and sometimes it's picky about how you ftp. Believe it of not, IE7 works best for me.

Also, check to see if you're using the right type of FTP, either FTP (port 21) vs. SFTP(22)

Your hostname is valid and asks for login. Just be sure not to copy username/password with spaces.
