programm to write php code

hi everybody

I use dreamweaver mx 2004 to write a php code in it , can any one tell me if there is another programm to write the code on it ?

Notepad++ is pretty good, there are quite a few others though. Search around for text editors.

A text editor like the one in Ubuntu Linux comes pretty handy. It displays the variables, functions, etc., in different color, which needless to say it is pretty helpful.
