1) Script Title: Ultimate Fade-in slideshow (v1.51)

2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex14/fadeinslideshow.htm

3) Describe problem: Using this script, it is excellent, however I would like to use one addition.

I tried to display an absolutely positioned image on the slideshow. I can make it work by using "position:absolute;" on css with a basic HTML file. But the slideshow seems to block this absolutely positioned image. Any idea why?

Here is the CSS code I use:

#myimg{
position:absolute;
top:10;
right:10;
width:99;
height:41;
}

Hope this is reasonably clear.

Many thanks in anticipation

UFade works in part by escalating z-index - the stacking value for elements that are positioned and occupying some or all of the same space on the page.

To get another positioned element to always show on top, well that's virtually impossible, but in a practical sense can be done if that element is given a high z-index, ex:

#myimg {
position: absolute;
top: 10px;
right: 10px;
width: 99px;
height: 41px;
z-index: 10000;
}

Thanks John. The problem is solved. I tried this approach before.

For some reason, if I apply z-index to a div which contains the image file I'd like to place, it doesn't work. Now, I apply z-index to <img tag directly, then it works.

The z-index generally has no meaning unless the element it is applied to also has position either relative or absolute. There are some exceptions in some browsers. But if you want to z-index stack in all browsers, absolute or relative positioning is the safest bet.
