1) Script Title: :: Mouseover Tabs Menu

2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/mouseovertabs.htm

3) Describe problem:
My question is how can both lines of the menu - first line and second line be centered within a <DIV> container an of equal length. I would like to imitate this menu: http://derstandard.at/
I understand this to be a CSS issue, but tricky because the script displays the elements of a list in one line.

Thank you.

I am not sure if this will help, but it sounds like you're after float.

Here's a reference I ran across awhile ago, but I have not had to do...what I think you want..which is total centering?

Hope it helps in your case.

Thanks for the link.
The menu goes into a page which is centered on the screen and the menu should be centered within a <DIV> on that page, while all examples of the mouseover tabs menu on the dynamic drive HP are aligned to the left. Due to the fact, that all list <LI> elements of the top line are displayed in line, I did not find a universal method to center the menu on a page. (Except to set a left margin in px or %, which is not really equal on different screen sizes or different menu (first line) elements. I then would have to set the margine-left in dependance of the menu wording length.)
Maybe the forum members have a universal solution independant of client screen size and menu wording length.

Thank you, trochia, for the link to maxdesign

If one follows exactly the instruction, it can be centered as desireds.
Thank you, trochia

No, the Austrian newspaper "Der Standard" gave the idea for this menu. And dynamic drive had the solution for this. Only the centering had to be resolved. I am working on my own HP www.andromeda.at where I intend to implement this type of menu. At the moment it is not yet visible.
