i am trying to link to a target_blank or _new in my rss/xml feed. from the <link> attribute after the title.
any way i can accomplish this?

It should be target="_blank" I don't think "new" is an acceptable attribute.

ya it's target_blank new dose not exist. I can say that with 100% confirmation.

That's W3Schools, not the W3C. The W3C is the authoritative standards body on matters regarding the Web, which maintains current HTML, XHTML, CSS, XML, SVG, and other standards; W3Schools is a rather rubbish tutorial site that posts false information and ignores corrections, seemingly with the sole intention of deceiving newbies.
The target attribute is obsolete in recent markup versions. Just don't do it: if the user wants to open your page in a new window or tab, they will do it themselves.
