I have tried so much.
I keep trying and trying, no matter what I do I can't get anything to work.

I got this other bit of code I found on a SEO site

<link rel="canonical" href="http://www.robinsden.110mb.com" />

I don't know if I put it in the right place though. They said it's suppose to work the same as a re-direct link.

my page is in html

I tried what people have posted for a php solution to and that did not work.

I confused? How do I get this to work for me.

Thanks.

sorry about that, I am trying to make the address bar or how ever you would say it recognize that
the following two pages are the same:
http://www.robinsden.110mb.com and http://robinsden.110mb.com

From my understanding to be seo friendly you must create a 301-redirect link between these two pages.

They are the same - both addresses are the same.

Plus, SEO stuff is bogus. Don't buy into it.

I don't know much about web design, I'll be the first to admit that but to say that SEO sfuff is bogus I have a hard time to believe that. After all why post stuff about being SEO friendly if it's not true. At least some of it has got to be.

O ya I know both of those links, link to the same page but well...

check the following page out to see what I am talking about with the link thing.

Here is what they tell me:

Permanent Redirect Not Found

Search engines may think www.robinsden.110mb.com and robinsden.110mb.com are two different sites. You should set up a permanent redirect (technically called a "301 redirect") between these sites. Once you do that, you will get full search engine credit for your work on these sites.

Oh, Okay...

Search engines won't pick it up as two sites. My web site is hosted on a sub domain, and all the search engines haven't picked it up as two sites.

And the keyword in what it tells you is MAY:

Search engines may think www.robinsden.110mb.com and robinsden.110mb.com are two different sites.

They'll only pick up the site once, the index bot does a bunch of tests, and if the sites return the same, it won't index both, just one (usually the one without www)

All the SEO people are trying to do is create work for you. Don't worry about the "301 redirect" thing.

EDIT: I just tested my web site on that thing - that service is useless... The suggestions the results gave me were ridiculous! Like:

RSS is an industry standard syndication approach that allows users to 'subscribe' to your blog so that they are automatically notified when new content is posted. There are a variety of free RSS applications available that let site visitors subscribe and consume content.

Thanks? Not EVERY web site has a blog! And they want me to send out newsletters to keep "my visitors up to date". On what?

Don't look into SEO - it's just a money making scheme for web designers. SEO takes lots of effort and time - you can't "hire" someone to do it. The only useful "optimization" is Google Webmaster Tools (http://www.google.ca/webmasters). And SEO isn't real, that's my point.
