1) Script Title: Smooth Navigational Menu

2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/ddsmoothmenu.htm

3) Describe problem: When using this menu (very cool, by the way) - it works fine in IE7, however, when checking the page in Safari or Firefox, the menu does not extend across the page. It stops after the last menu item. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure which code you need. I don't really have this on a "live" page - I'm just testing how it looks and works. I want the menu to extend across the entire page, and it only goes about 1/2 way.

It looks fine in IE7, but it does not in Firefox or Safari. Is there something I can look at myself - some kind of setting to change?

I am testing it within a table - which is set at 100%.

<table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
<tr valign="top">

<div id="smoothmenu1" class="ddsmoothmenu">

is this the section of code that would relate?

.ddsmoothmenu{
font: bold 12px Verdana;
background: #840129; /*background of menu bar (default state)*/
width: 100%;

Sorry, but that is not enough, please post all the code you have and make sure you wrap it in code tags by clicking on the button that looks like this: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/forums/images/editor/code.gif

Try adding this to your CSS code:

.ddsmoothmenu {
font: bold 12px Verdana;
background: #840129; /*background of menu bar (default state)*/
width: 100%;
position: absolute;
}

Good luck!

Sorry to bug you again! This fix does extend the menu across the page - and now works fine with Firefox and Safari. However, in IE the height is off. Any suggestions?

Thank you so much for your help!

Try this:

.ddsmoothmenu {
font: bold 12px Verdana;
background: #840129; /*background of menu bar (default state)*/
width: 100%;
position: absolute;
height: 25px;
}

Good luck!

the height setting doesn't seem to make any difference in IE

I have tried setting and adjusting the height and it only seems to impact the height on Firefox and Safari - it doesn't seem to have any effect in IE.
