left column issue

I'm using this layout: CSS Liquid Layout #2.1- (Fixed-Fluid)

I'm getting some feedback that the left hand column isn't showing up (i believe it's IE6) on older machines/browsers...:confused:

Any ideas for a fix?

It works in all browsers on my mac but there are some validation issues.
