Huh? First of all, surely Twey isn't advocating a transitional doctype. The point is that it should be valid markup (preferably with a strict doctype).

No, it's already Transitional (and still invalid). It should be Strict; I was highlighting the errors that require fixing to make it so (handily, the validator also points out that the DOCTYPE needs changing).

The old Transitional DOCTYPEs should not be used for new pages.
