Rollback from IE8 to IE7

[X96 Web Design]

I have Internet Explorer 8 installed. But I need IE7 to test my web site(s) in.

Every time I download the install file, it says I have the wrong OS, because I have Vista, and I can only find an XP installer...

Any tips? I really need to rollback to 7...

1. You can't install IE7 and IE8 on the same PC, if you try to install it through the installers from Microsoft.
2. You can use some programs that offers multiple IE provision instead here is one (http://tredosoft.com/Multiple_IE) such program.
3. Also you can make use of IE Tester (http://www.my-debugbar.com/wiki/IETester/HomePage) program for testing your page in different IE versions.
4. Also you can rollback your IE8 installation through Add/Remove Programs, which will rollback to IE7.

can't seem to find Add/Remove Programs in Control panel, is it located somewhere else?

Sorry for that. Open Control Panel and if you are not in classic mode then you can click the 'Uninstall Program' link which is a part of the 'Programs' item.

If you are using Classic view of control panel then use 'Programs and Features' item.

If you completely remove IE, whatever version from your windows computer, it will cause many problems because it is also the file manager thingy. So, even add remove or whatever will generally not allow it.

I'm sure a Vista installer for IE 7 exists. Also, many of the standalone/emulator IE apps are poorly supported or not supported at all in Vista. You're lucky you found one that works for you
