Hi,

I've been using the thumbnail viewer for a site and saw this post to remove the tooltips. It is working fine with Firefox but there is an issue with Safari.

When it is viewed in Safari the title tage that appears in the 'loadarea' is no longer there.

Is there something i need to add to the js code to fix this for Safari?

Thanks

In future, please post new questions in a new thread like here where I've moved this, and:

Warning: Please include a link to the DD script in question in your post. See this thread (http://www.dynamicdrive.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6) for the proper posting format when asking a question.

Anyways, the script you are talking about has been updated since that old thread I moved your post from. And there is an easier/better way to remove tooltip type titles from the hover of links - if you have thumbnail images. Just give the image tag a blank title:

<a href="bulb.gif" rel="enlargeimage::mouseover"
rev="loadarea" title="my caption"><img src="bulb_tbn.gif" title="" alt=""></a>

If you want more help:

Please post a link to the page on your site that contains the problematic code so we can check it out.

Sorry about posting wrong. My first time on a forum.

I wish to keep the title tag there as I need to description to appear in the 'loadarea' below the image.

This is a link to the site i'm using the code on. The hiding tooltip is working great in Firefox but the browser Safari seems to not show the description under the image anymore.

Thanks again for helping me with this.

<a href="bulb.gif" rel="enlargeimage::mouseover"
rev="loadarea" title="my caption"><img src="bulb_tbn.gif" title="" alt=""></a>

Take a look again at what I posted and have just quoted above with additional highlighting. This part:

title="my caption"

will be the caption in the loadarea. This part:

title=""

will prevent a tooltip when hovering the trigger.

I understand how that would work great with images, but what about if you just have some text linking to an image?

Such as http://studentpages.scad.edu/~gmihal20/gallerytext.html

Did this in the js file:

var imageHTML='<img src="'+imagepath+'" style="padding-top: .25em;" /><div id="description">Hello</div>' //Construct HTML for enlarged image
Which worked in Firefox, but not in Safari.

Also, I tried changing the get "title" function to get "alt". Which again worked in Firefox (hid the tooltip and displayed the alt text as the description) but did not work in Safari.

Any suggestions? Is there any way to add a div tag to the linked image like the other image viewer, (I got those to work on my page as well, Click on "Water" and "Road") I enjoy that structure like the preloader, and the specific description div, and I would like to implement that but I need the images to load in a specific place on the page, and I want to control where that is in relation to my wrapper div. Also, I'm going for functionality that is cross-browser friendly. I have a CSS built gallery right now (http://gregmdesign.com), but again, Firefox is fine but all of the others do not display it correctly.

Any suggestions?

<a href="bulb.gif" rel="enlargeimage::mouseover"
rev="loadarea" title="my caption"><span title="">Bulb</span></a>
