'Social Networking'???!!!!

Hey all,

Now ive just starting learning PHP and kinda got ahead of myself by saying i'd create a basic 'Social Networking' site for a Uni Project.

Only thing is... I have no idea as to how i go about making it?!
I understand this is potentially a complex issue.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Social Networking implies a lot of things. Can you be more specific as to the functionality you plan? Do you want to do everything from scratch or integrated 3rd party applications?

Well as its a Uni project im just talking basics. ill focus on the aesthetic side of things. Basically all i wanted was a basic profile for each user showing a profile pick, a link to be able to email them and for them to be able to place content upon their page.

Don't worry though, im just a very ambitious person! thank you for your reply.
