Greetings:)

I just set up a site with a white bg and a css box with a nonrepeating bg img with transparent negative space. I was told the box background came out gray. So I added a white bg color. The box bg is still gray... but only in IE 6. IE 7 displays fine. Why? Is there a workaround?

It would help if you showed us your site so we could see your code, but it sounds like your css is conflicting with IE

I posted a stripped down version with the head containing the ccs script at http://smithsys.net/test.htm

It is a conflict with IE 6. That's the problem I'm trying to work out. Any ideas?
There are a lot of folks who still use IE 6; the problem is nonexistent in IE7.

While we're at it, do you remember the site which checks sites against several of the major browsers and versions at once? Perhaps a link to an online site of css/browser compatibilities?

Thank you for your assistance.
