That's profoundly idiotic, though I'm not surprised he's developed a following-- people tend to gravitate toward such things. The real question is whether he's in on it (and there is something seriously wrong with him), or if it's just insulting him... in which case it's amazing how many people are in on that as well.
Either way, I fail to see the point aside from, as seems to be the case, yet another way to waste hours on facebook.

Didn't really have a point, I just found it utterly hilarious that he looks so much like a thumb :)

Er, I think it's probably been GIMPed. A real thumb in the shot, then a photograph (the creator's?) edited onto it. djr33 can probably attest how easy it is to do with all this new-fangled image manipulation technology. :p

It could be photoshop work, and it may very well be-- looks somewhat like they just contorted someone's face to that shape by stretching portions (especially noticable at the corner with his shirt), but either way, I'm still not sure what the big deal is. He might actually look like that (camera angles can do a lot-- he certainly doesn't always look like that, nor do cars stop to pick him up).
