View Full Version : How to put together simple upload applet?

I'd like to create an applet that performs folder or multiple files upload. I'm new to java so I'm not sure exactly how to go about accomplishing this. I've read a few books: Java for Dummies and Sam's Learn Java in 21 Days - so I have a good understanding of the basics. I don't want the applet to be complex, but rather something simple that I can understand and does the basics of: viewing a user's file system and uploads to a target server.

Does anyone know of any tutorials, books, etc. that have examples or cover upload applications? Alternatively, does anyone have any advice or guidance?

Murach's Java Servlets and JSP
Its organization and layout is just amazing.. If you're looking for something with examples after every statemend, don't get this.. otherwise, the 2nd edition works great.

You can use JFileUpload as upload applet (http://www.jfileupload.com/products/jfileupload/index.html) and JSPScript (http://www.jfileupload.com/products/tools/index.html)as upload script on server-side.

Hope it helps.
