Hello DyanmicDrivers.
Just yesterday or today - everytime I open FireFox, at some point a popup in IE pops up.. It popups with a website inside it(everytime this happens again, I'll post the site - as they're all different). I tried uninstalling IE Tab Viewer, but it didn't stop the popups in IE. I think I may of downloaded Adware.

To see a list of recently installed programs, go here: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/forums/showpost.php?p=177108&postcount=7

Programs that I've installed in the last week:

Uninstalled Filezilla
Installed SmartFTP
Reinstalled NotePad++
Installed update to PDN(Paint. net)
Installed MSN+
Installed Stylizer - then uninstalled
Installed EditorPlus - then uninstalled
Installed GTalk
Installed Gmail Notifier...

Can someone please help.

Some other things I forgot to say I installed:
First 10 topics(installed most plugins), if it hasn't changed since 1/2/09:

Have you tried system restore?

Hope this helps!

Before that, you might want to try running some cleaner programs like Windows Defender, AVG Anti-Spyware, or Spybot Search & Destroy.

Ok - I've tried spybot search and destroy. Heres a link that just popped up:

Ok.. Now I don't know whats going on. It may be FF adware that I may of downloaded.. Or the IE default homepage which is: http://www.google.com/ig/dell?hl=en&client=dell-usuk&channel=us&ibd=608041, can someone go there and see if pop ups happen(refresh a couple, clear cache and such).
Ok... I figured out in both IE and Firefox, it opens IE windows with ads..

Ok, I'm sick of this. It happens whenever FireFox is open or Internet Explorer - I run Ad-Ware and SpyBot every day... I can't have this happen, does anyone else have any ideas?

(all spybot and ad-ware do is pick up a little click media cookies and such. :()

Have you tried to start Firefox in safe mode (all add-ons will be disabled) and see whether you get the same issue?

It seems that IE Tab add-on has some issues, I've read sometimes back not sure whether it is about some ad-aware). Mozilla people recommending IE View (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/35) add-on over IE Tab.

I've already uninstalled IE Tab add-on, how do I completely get rid of it? No, I have not tried starting firefox in safe mode, I will next time I need something to work cross browser. I don't really need an IE Previewer, although I got it b/c Snookerman suggested it to me.

How do I get rid of this adware your talking about?

I have not tried a system restore but I assume it's already to late for that. Doesn't a system restore restore the system with in the last weak? Or does it completely re-install vista?

Trend Micro isn't working very well...
Spysweeper Webroot I've uninstalled a while ago.
Spybot and Adware run every day.
Windows Defender runs automatically.

Trend Micro finds something that it classifies as spyware in the exception list. I'm guessing the adware added it self to the list? Whenever I remove it it pops right back up on the list.

I misunderstood this, this is on the exception list that will ALWAYS delete.

Trend Micro says there are no spywares, or any security leaks on my machine. :o

Ok... Ready?

Here's what I know:

I've downloaded MsnPlus which appears to also include C2Media. I also had a Trojan Horse Generic on my machine. (http://www.computing.net/answers/security/trojan-horse-generic-12avvj/24789.html) Which can slow down my computer, make ads, [etc (http://www.pcthreat.com/parasitebyid-6789en.html)]... I have SpyHunter3 installed now and running (after installing Avast and AVG [avg really helped, it found the trojan]) and its finding and cleaning up for me. :)

Notice if you click the etc... above, and look to the right, its a danger level 10. Ouch.

I was going to say, but looks like you are already on the case. AVG is very aggressive in going after these things and is constantly updated.

Turns out SpyHunter is fake... AVG helped me find the trojan. Now I'm testing to see if its gone. ;)
