Changing Info On Program View Source Page

I am in need of help... My webmaster passed and I need to find out how to get into the back of my website to make changes and updates. My websmaster is the one who did all this and I never got the information on how to take over this task if I needed to do it.

This is what I need..
1. Where on my website do I need to go to make changes?
2. Where do I go on the website to change the information found on the Program View Page Source.... The page that is view by the search engines

Any help that you can give is greatly appreciated...

If you do not know how to code or program I would suggest getting a new webmaster. But to do this you would need the FTP user, pass, host and port. If you do not have that data contact your old webmaster. If you do not have an FTP program, you can get a 30 day free trial of SmartFTP (http://www.smartftp.com/), you can get for a free FileZilla (http://filezilla-project.org/). Or NotePad++ (http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm) which has build in FTP.

Once you do this you would need to go in the root file(could be: public_html, www, or (mysitename).(com)), and find the files you need to edit.
