How to embed videos on page with drop down nav?

PROBLEM NOW FIXED! SEE BELOW FOR THE SOLUTION.

3) Describe problem:

I'm trying to embed videos on a website, such as a video from youtube.com or vimeo.com

I notice the navigation gets glitchy in both IE and Firefox. The navigation cannot drop down over the video area on the page, and when the mouse is over the navigation the videoscreen disappears on that mouseover.

I have tried the video as a php include, and hit the same problem. I have also tried to change the code in the player to "never" for allowing script access, and it does not change things.

THE SOLUTION:
So after 6 wonderful hours of trying to fix javascript, it turns out the problem is in how flash interacts with dynamic content.

Solution was adding wmode="transparent" in two places...

<param name="wmode" value="transparent" />
<EMBED src="swf.swf" quality=best bgcolor=#FFFFFF wmode="transparent" WIDTH="550" ...
