What is the best program or code to use to create a web page slide show with 300 images?:)

That's nearly an impossible question to answer. A lot depends upon your target audience and what exactly you want to do with this slide show. One very good script is my Swiss Army slide show. It's quite flexible, and as regards 300 images, it does incremental preload, a great feature where many images are involved. See:
