Switch Content Persist Problem

When I use the switch content script on a web page I am working on (), the second section continues to be expanded even after deleting cookies, restarting the browser, and the problem also persists on different computers.

However, when I take the "instance.setPersist(true)" line out of my code, the problem stops. But I would like to keep the persist setting to true. This problem does not recur on any other pages where I use the script in the same way. Does anyone have any hints as to what might be going on?

Edit: I have also noticed that this problem does not occur when the url is typed directly into the address bar. e.g., the problem on my site only happens when going to http://www.lmri.ucsb.edu/events, clicking on "UC LMRI Annual Conference," and then clicking on "May 1-2, 2009 Conference."

Please elaborate. I click on UC LMRI Annual Conference (http://www.lmri.ucsb.edu/events/09_conf/index.php), but then don't see the "May 1-2, 2009 Conference." reference that supposedly is a switch content.
