1) Script Title: Featured Content Glider

2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex17/featuredcontentglider.htm

3) Describe problem:

I'd like to know how to modify the script to do two things.
One, I need to remove the fade in of the pagination links. The animation causes text smoothing in IE7 to not work, giving the text an ugly, jagged look. That's my most important point.
Second, I want the first page to display immediately instead of scrolling in as if I had changed the page. I want my page to appear to load instantly and not have to "put itself together" before the viewer can use it.

Also, a less important change, but perhaps big enough to need a new script would be a different wipe effect. I'd like to try the style used on Comcast.net, where the pages don't scroll in, but instead there's just a sort of wipe effect that pulls the previous frame off, revealing the new frame behind it. The effect would appear to have a "two-face" appearance mid-wipe. Basically the left side will be the old frame, which hasn't moved, just the right half was cut off and replaced with the right half of the new frame. As the wipe occurs, the line between the frames will move from right to left (or whatever direction the user chooses). Also a feature from the Comcast.net version that could be a useful addon to the above would be a "Pause/Play" button, so the viewer can stop and start the automatic scrolling of the frames instead of having to click a pagination link, and also after clicking a pagination link, they can resume the automatic scrolling again with the play button.

Regarding the first two requested changes, try the modified .js file below.

Yep. Take a look at:

Sorry, but the new script didn't work. Yes, it stopped the fading, but something about it is still removing the text smoothing effects from the pagination links. IE removes smoothing effects if the test has effects added to it such as shadows, glow, or fades. I need it to remove all effects from the text aside from the normal CCS swaps for the page number.
When you disabled the animation for the first frame, it disabled for all the frames, so now there's no glide animation at all.

Ok, try the below modified .js file instead.

Looks perfect! It does exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the help! I'll post back if I find any other issues. I still might like the other animation style, but I can work with this too.
