I have learned HTML, Xhtml, CSS and some Javascript (it still scares me) at W3schools.com but they don't cover Flash very well. It says on the site that you have to buy a program to build a flash movie, so does that mean you can not work with flash at all unless you buy the program from Adobe. I was just looking for some more sites that might tell me more about flash, and where to start. Asking people who work with it might be better than a search engine.

This is mostly true. There are other programs (SwishMax is a popular one) that allow you to work with the SWF format and has limited support for ActionScript. To best leverage all the possibilities and features that working in Flash can provide, you need Adobe Flash. Adobe has just recently open sourced the .flv and .swf formats, so you can expect some 3rd party software in the future. Though, that might not be for quite some time.

This (http://sixrevisions.com/flashactionscript/flash_tutorial_websites/) page lists all of the popular web resources to learn/discuss Flash. My personal favorite (and the only one that I still really use) is gotoAndLearn() (http://gotoandlearn.com/).

Touché.
