I don't know if this questions hasn't been asked so ignore my ignorance.
Is there a full listing of all projects on sourceforge/freshmeat I can download? It is a bit time consuming to go over all projects page by page.

You can't download it, but it's easy enough to browse. Why are you going through each anyway? I would think a search for areas of interest would be a more efficient way of tracking down whatever it is that you're looking for

That's because such a list can be marketed, something like a combination as distrowatch and milliondollar homepage. But the main issue is time saving. Since there isn't such a list I have to go through the dip (seth godin).
