Hi guys,
Is there some code I can put into my web portfolio that will prevent people from being able to download my images without my permission? I know I can reduce resolution so they can't get good prints but I wondered if I could place some sort of signature in the code as proof of ownership or some kind of hidden watermark or something? Any help and ideas would be appreciated! Thanks.

There are hidden watermarks that can be edited into images, but they're hidden. You need special software to see them, and they can be removed. There is absolutely nothing that can be done with this in HTML (the forum you posted in).

The only real copy protection is copyright law.

With images you can do as you say, use lower resolution samples. Or you can use an actual visible watermark, or both.

There is nothing to prevent the images from being downloaded though. The very act of viewing an image in a browser means that it is on the user's HD. It has to be downloaded in order to be seen.

A visible watermark would be more useful.

Thanks Guys. I guess I will have to create some sort of discreet but visible watermark design then.
