Magento Installation

Good Day to all!

Has anyone among you here had already tried magento (http://www.magentocommerce.com/)?

I had been having hard time installing it, and it's confusing since there are three (zipped) files to download, and I'm uncertain to which one should I choose, or possibly all of them.

If someone already had success installing it, please share your thoughts.

do the downloader... This will download and will install everything. If that doesn't work then use the full release...

Yes, I already downloaded the downloader, then the sample data, but no cigar.

I called the support of the hosting site that I have and problems were diagnosed that Magento where using chmod 777 and PHP5.

All of which I am of no control and so the hosting activated it.

Thank you for your response Rockonmental, it's very much appreciated.

I've downloaded the full version now, and hopefully, the hosting will provide an aide.

Yay! It was fixed.

Directories were changed to 755 chmod and files were set to 644 permissions, and all works great!
