Flexi Slideshow shows white space to new visitor before page is cached

We are using the Flexi Slideshow - great work!

Visitors briefly see a white rectangle when arriving to the website for the first time before the first image appears on the screen. Once the page is cached this does not happen.

Can anyone suggest how we can avoid having the white rectangle appear upon a first visit to a page?
