Let's take a vote and see how long people think that the "Paid Work Requests" forum will last... I've noticed that since it's induction, there's only been two threads posted. I actually thought that people would be a little more open to the idea of paying someone to get their problem looked at guaranteed, rather than waiting around to hopefully get it looked at for free.

Most folks looking for paid help are not at the moment even considering the DD forums, this is a new feature and there are other sites dedicated to paid help.

I think it will catch on though, if ddadmin leaves it up long enough.

Agreed. Generally if people are looking for help, they go to the larger freelance sites devoted to website designers and clients. But I think it will catch on after a while.

There are, as you two said, sites dedicated to this.
I think that people will continue to go to those sites. The "Paid Work Requests" forums are not what this site is designed for. This is a place to simply get help with your code and JavaScripts hosted here. If you're looking for paid help, look somewhere else.

Tech_no, I wouldn't say don't ask here. I would say that it depends on the project you want.

This was exactually what I was trying to say in the original thread about the two new forums if anyone remembers?
I personally do not like the new fourms, and I think what techo race said is true.

I think some of you folks are being unnecessarily negative about the new forums. Perhaps it is mostly because you don't think you will benefit from them at all.

I think I probably will, if they catch on, though it could be tricky negotiating equitable agreements, and sticking to deadlines. Other things to avoid are biting off more than one can chew, and folks who think they own you once they contract for one specific thing.

But I'm willing to deal with it for some extra credits in my PayPal and/or Amazon accounts.

I don't see how having them will hurt the rest of the forum.

Your operators are on fire.
It should be:

if (exactly + eventually || actually == exactually)
I think he means:

exactly + actually == exactually

I actually wanted the paid section of the forums. It would mean an extra bucks.

Also, it has been few months since it was added, and I believe it has a long way to go yet.
