I've been on this fight to get lightbox to work on my site outside of iframes....I finally solved this using lytebox, but now Internet Explorer opens a new window inside the iframe. I cant figure out how to fix this but i know it works in Firefix.

Go to the Design page on IE to see the problem.

(Please tell me I posted this in the right place!!)

Try using a valid URL DOCTYPE for both the top page and the page in the iframe. Since iframe is deprecated in HTML strict and XHTML, and XHTML isn't really supported by IE, I'd suggest (with a plain opening html tag):

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
<html>

In other words, use the above to replace this:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

on the page in the iframe. And use it to replace this:

<html>

on the top page.

There could be other problems. But yes, this is the right place to post this question.

That works, muchos!

Though for some reason now on IE one image refuses to show up. It shows up in FF but not IE....damn browser compatibility issues.

I noticed that before. Had it ever shown up? It's the only .jpg, right? Perhaps it's in a format that IE doesn't recognize. I mean it's JPEG, and IE should recognize JPEG, but there might be something a little unusual about it. Like does it have the full .jpeg extension? If so, other browsers might be correcting for that as it's only listed as .jpg in the source code. Or you may have to save a copy of it and make sure there isn't anything in the options that could throw IE off.

I just downloaded it. It still wouldn't show in IE. If I saved a copy of it in Paint Shop, or made a copy of it in Paint Shop using export as JPEG, either way the resulting image then did show up in IE. So it must be something about the precise save options under which it was originally created that IE doesn't like.

I don't think it's ever worked which is completely random because I think one of the other images is a jpg and that one works? I don't understand why it wouldnt be working? Kinda random?

Can you send me the file you saved? I lack PSP on this computer since I was forced to upgrade to Vista after my other laptop died.

You need to save it differently. I think we cross posted, see my previous post (I made two since you first mentioned this problem), where I elaborate on the issue a bit.

problem is, when I try resaving it as something else on Photoshop it doesnt give me any image choices other than jpg. (eps, pdf, and other files that arent picture related...I'd prefer PNG but it's being a wench.
