cross browser isue w/img mouseover effect

3) Describe problem:
this code works perfect for me in FF but not in IE.
what i'm trying to do is create several imaps from a single photo and when you hover over each imap a different gif appears. great in FF but in IE the position of the gif changes and makes it appear at the top of the page instead of the positions that i want (which weren't changed from the original script) which should only be slightly to the right of the curser.

there is no other js on my page.

can anyone shed some light onto my problem. any advice is welcome.

Actually, this script isn't meant for use on image maps, as the coordinates of a hotspot are not the same as the coordinates used/ assumed by the script. The fact that it works in FF for you is just a coincidence.

There are a few threads on how to modify this script to work on image maps, though to be honest I've never tested any of them. You may want to do a search, or use a script like Tipimage (http://digitalhymn.com/argilla/tipmage/) instead, which works specifically with imagemaps.
