This may be considered a newbie question, but I don't think I fully comprehend it, so I'm gonna ask anyway.
What EXACTLY is the difference between "margin" and "padding"?

haha, nevermind. I figured it out. DUH.
Margin defines space outside the "object" and padding defines space within it.
Not sure why I didn't fully understand that, it's pretty simple.

Glad you have it figured out. I was having this dilemma few months ago. In fact, I have the sites which helped me understand bookmarked:

You might find it useful at your end too.
